A living handbook for a mini hosting company. CloudStack, KVM, networks, and the messy real decisions, written volume by volume as I build it.
APM
Real observability on k3s with SigNoz. Traces, infra metrics, and the path from a blank cluster to something you can actually debug with.
Agnostic Surveillance
A vendor agnostic video platform for IP cameras on isolated networks. Edge agents, outbound only connectivity, and cloud control without lock in.
I am an engineer who likes the full path. Bare metal, hypervisors, Kubernetes, and the security work that has to ship with the feature. I write it down because I forget otherwise, and because a thing you cannot explain is a thing you do not own yet.
Practice
How I actually work
The stuff I keep coming back to in real environments, not a skills dump.
CI/CD and automation
Pipelines that can survive monorepos, multi platform builds, and self hosted runners. I try to kill toil without losing the ability to see what broke.
Kubernetes and GitOps
Clusters that stay declarative. Argo CD, Flux, Fleet. If it is not in git, it did not happen, and if it breaks I want a path back.
Cloud and hypervisors
Rancher clusters, Longhorn storage, Proxmox, Harvester. The layer under Kubernetes still matters, and I like living there.
Infrastructure as code
Terraform and Ansible to stand things up the same way twice. Reproducible, versioned, written down so I am not the only person who knows it.
DevSecOps and SSDLC
SonarQube, Trivy, Harbor, NeuVector, and actual testing, not a slide that says shift left. Security ships with the feature or it does not ship.
Networking and Linux
Firewalls, hardening, and the boring Linux work that keeps a platform honest. If the foundation is messy, everything above it is theater.
